The North Texas Tollway Authority has released video of a five-car crash involving a Dallas Area Rapid Transit bus last week.
The video shows the paratransit bus smashing into four cars in the southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway near the Harry Hines Boulevard exit.
The force of the collision spit car parts all over the road and sent vehicles spinning.
Two people were injured in the June 29 crash.
Emergency crews used a rescue tool to extricate people out of the wreckage.
The driver was the only person in the DART bus.
According to the accident report, the DART investigator said the driver caused the chain-reaction crash by not slowing down.
In a statement, DART said DART police’s investigation indicates that the wreck was result of the driver’s failure to slow with traffic but said that Veolia, the agency’s paratransit operator, is still conducting its investigation.
“We’ll review their conclusions to try and identify any needed areas for changes in operator safety training,” DART said.
The driver is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
DART said it would not have any additional statements on the crash because it is still under investigation.
No one was killed in the crash.
